Welcome to the September Islands View newsletter. Doesn’t it seem like things get “real” this month? The lazy days of summer are over and the slow start to the school year ended with Labor Day. Life and all of its responsibilities ramp up big time.
Take a look at the full September calendar Davis Islands has in store. There are Davis Islands Civic Association events, an islands book signing and of course Halloween in the Village to prep for.

Coastal Cleanup

Join your fellow Islands residents and Keeping Tampa Bay Beautiful in our Annual Coastal Cleanup on Saturday September 21st.  Meet at the tent near the DI Boat Ramp at 8:30am.

The Davis Islands Civic Association is hosting a resident social with free swimming and Bar-B-Q at the Historic Roy Jenkins Pool on October 19th

Book Signing for Trooper Earl on Patrol @ Wag Natural Pet Market

Join first time author and Tampa Native, Nina Monte, as she hosts a book signing on Davis Islands! Sunday, September 29, 5:00pm- 7:30pm @ Wag Natural Pet Market. Wine and Nibbles will be served. 

Halloween in the Village Sponsorship/Volunteer

Halloween is just around the corner and so is our 11th Annual Halloween in the Village on October 26th.  We are always seeking additional volunteers and/or sponsorships.  If you would like to participate in a fantastic event that brings both Islands and off Islands folks together then contact Jenn Fadal for details info@wagoftampa.com

DI Resident Social: Free Swim and Bar-B-Q

The Davis Islands Civic Association is hosting a resident social with free swimming and Bar-B-Q at the Historic Roy Jenkins Pool on October 19th

The Reading Spot

This month I changed it up a bit and am recommending a children’s book: Trooper Earl on Patrol.
Trooper Earl is a Beagle/Corgi mix who has an important job. As a first responder, Trooper Earl is responsible for protecting his people, his property and the critters who live there. He does not let his impaired front paw keep him from always performing his duty to serve.

DI Civic Association Monthly Meeting

The next meeting of the DI Civic Association will be held Tuesday September 3rd at the Sandra Freedman Tennis Complex, starting at 7pm.

REAL ESTATE MARKET UPDATED AUGUST 2019

This month the real estate market on Davis Islands remained on trend from last month with very strong numbers.  Homes going under contract were 10 and new homes coming to market were 14. 7 homes closed with 30 available for sale.


The lowest priced home currently for sale came in at $365,000

The highest priced home currently for sale came in at $3,500,000

The lowest priced home that sold closed at $320,000

The highest priced home sold at $1,670,000

The Original List Price to Sales Price Ratio is 95.2 % 2019 vs 100% in 2018

The Median Days on Market for active properties is 96

In summary: Homes coming to market have increased month over month, with homes going under contract increasing slightly as well.  Active homes on market has stayed consistently in the low 30’s.  Prices have been a little softer, with overpricing of properties in certain levels has made days on market extend.
