A Community Effort to Throw Shade
If you have taken a trip to the Roy Jenkins pool recently you may have noticed the newly installed Tuuci Sun Shades on the pool deck. These beautiful new covers were made possible by a combination of community forces bringing together both time and money. In particular Chris Katsares with the Davis Islands Civic Association lead the effort along with monetary contributions from the Hillsborough County Mini-Neighborhood Grant, The City of Tampa, Davis Islands Civic Association and the Davis Islands Garden Club. Currently, there are two shades purchased for the pool with the plan to secure at least 4 more. If you are interested in learning more on how to contribute to this community project please contact Chris Katsares with the Davis Islands Civic Association. [email protected]

BIKE REPAIR STATION
If you are an avid biker or walker on Davis Islands you may have noticed the installation of the new bike repair station on Seaplane Basin. This repair station organized and funded by the Davis Islands Civic Association is certainly something that helps in enhancing the friendliness of Davis Islands as an active community. Included in this station is an air pump, rack to hold the bike and plenty of tools for repairs. A special thank you to Janice Davis (former DICA president) for leading this effort.
